Man in a dark coat and wide-brim hat standing in a grayscale mountain valley, title "Lost Lover's Lament" across top
A moody, black-and-white scene shows a solitary figure in a long coat and fedora gazing over a misty mountain valley. The dramatic landscape evokes themes of heartbreak and longing, perfect for searches about lost love, romantic noir photography, and melancholic travel imagery.

QT: original song Of course this is inspired by all the AI songs being shared here. From a GAI perspective, I am not drawn to want to try and compose songs and music with an AI tool. I have learned to play the guitar to a level which I'd objectively say is better than a beginner but nowhere close to a pro level. I also got quite into home recording, first as a means to share for feedback purposes. Eventually I did write and record an original song. These are posted on YouTube, usually with slideshows with free-to-use images. Then somebody told me about Nightcafe and I dived in to make my own images for the slide show. For the song attached I played the guitar parts, sang the lead and harmony vocals, and used midi plus digital instruments for the rest of the arrangement. Images all AI creations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QhD_BzIrDU

Thanks for both comments, the compliments, do appreciate it --- I did an online singing course in Covid, made a HUGE difference --- it is interesting how we may have a different response to specific forms of GAI creation. When it comes to music, I suspect we are now at the point that if you just let Spotify play, you'll not know if something you've not heard before is AI generated or human performance. For me (and I stay with 'each to their own' I have no desire to dabble in GAI song production, nor really animation. But do like GAI image creation, and find AI invaluable as an aid in story-writing (boit not as we discussed, the sole author)

P.S. Perhaps I'm a hypocrite (since I make AI images), but I really don't want to listen to AI music, so I love that you wrote and recorded this without AI. You're definitely better than an amateur even if not fully professional haha, and you have the quite the falsetto to reach those higher notes in the backing vocals! 😆

DavidP

🤣 I guess that's IoT (Internet of Things) for you. Really the way it seems to be going with music, if you have never heard of the band/artist you'll have to research. Even a video of a live performance could be a deep fake though maybe you'd spot that more easily.

P.S. As long as your writing is more than 50% human, I'm fine with that. As with music, I'd rather read writing that has mistakes but is from the heart than writing that is perfect but sounds like every other piece of AI writing.

Thanks. No, still that same image as the video thumbnail. But I shared some others with you which may be what you are remembering.

CaylaCatz

Very cool. I love the vintage b&w photo vibe. Did you change the YT video cover? because I thought there was a different one before.

This is amazing loved the images along with the song. and the art style. Powerful!

I'm safe then The Sentinal was way more that 50% of my thoughts and writing 😀

CaylaCatz

that makes sense. my memory isn't great so perfectly capable of getting scrambled
