QT: one word prompt My spin: I am generally not into the one-word-prompt thing. While the images are usually fabulous, it is a bit like pulling a christmas cracker. But got into a conversation with @CaylaCatz about her german word 'fernweh', the English translation, and how the AI models intrepretated it. https://budgetpixel.com/p/21121 Based on Google research, the German means 'a deep, melancholic longing for distant places or an aching desire to travel to lands you may never have even visited'. The closest single English word is 'wanderlust', which reflects the visiting of distant places but without the state of melancholic longing. 1 - the one word prompt 'fernweh' 2 - the one word prompt 'wanderlust' 3 - my prompt to try and illustrate 'fernweh' Original QT: https://budgetpixel.com/p/20904

Always loved the word, as the opposite of "Heimweh". Lots of the German songs of the era (1950s/1960s) where related to "Heimweh" and "Fernweh", because the sailors had both, once they were home, they wanted to leave again, and vice versa, e.g. 1953 Lale Andersen "Fernweh" (you might know the English cover by Petula Clark same year "Helpless") 1956 Freddy Quinn "Heimweh" (German version of "Memories are made of this") ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7-rht2Ke7g
