It is cool. I am slowly working through it, something that will take years as I tend to only read in the evening before I go to bed, so don't make rapid progress. I also have Esslemont's 6. Though so far only 1 based on the reading order I have. --- But have to say, it is the hardest, most challenging fantasy series I've ever read. Often have no idea what is going on, but it is engaging to just go with the flow. As of now, I am approaching 85% complete on Toll the Hounds. --- For better or worse, I am interlacing with Wheel of Time, which is far lighter at least the first two books were. Will see how that goes --- at least I am not stuck for what to read 🤣

I've read the whole thing 4 times already, working on my 5th.😅 It's normal not to know what is going on with some of the things; in the 6th book, you get resolution on things set up in the 1st. While it can seem annoying at first, it makes the payoff and overall series better at the end.

usually around 10ish months. a book a month, give or take, depending on how busy I am. I did read it first in 2006 when the series was still being written. I think the latest one then was The Bonehunter, so the first read took me a few years, waiting on the series to be fully published.

I have the whole 10-book series in a PDF and read it mostly on the train (I live in Japan). I usually wouldn't, but Erikson by then was churning them yearly, and I had read that he had already written/planned most of it and was just doing small changes and proofreading until release.

Great image. Coiuldn't help but notice your username @thewhiskeyjack Is that in anyway a nod to the Malazan character, legend of The Bridgeburners?

Thanks! Yeah, that's where the name is from. Love the "Malazan Book of the Fallen" series.

WoW. How long does one read through take? You probably know what is going on now 🤣
