A nice story-telling image

Very cool image! I love the look on the townspeople faces as they look surprised the wolf didn't bite Francis. I knew St Francis tamed the animals but had never read the stories so I went and found this one. It's a cool story but what I like about it is that the taming goes both ways. The wolf was terrorizing the town and even killed a few people. I'll be the hungry wofl started out eating livestock like chickens. My guess is the people started hunting the wolf and trying to kill it. Francis says to the wolf you will not hurt these people but he also says to the people you will feed this wolf. So it's a bargain that goes both ways. Francis did not look out just for the townspeople but also the wolf. The wolf became a friend to the townspeople and went tamely in and out of homes. When the wolf died later, the town mourned. Cool story. Thank you for sharing the image.
