Yeah, I was just surprised that it's also in Australia as well as on Broadway. I hadn't really heard of the Chess musical since the 1980s when the song came out but it seems like it's quietly becoming a more renown musical. I'm glad I was right you were in Australia. My memory is the pits. Today the song day is Oceania, Australia and the Pacific so I'm looking around for a song with one of those geographies in the title.

The song became a hit in late 1984. The song was on the concept album for the musical Chess, with music written by ABBA members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. Lyrics by Ulvaeus and Tim Rice. The musical wasn't performed until 1986 tho. London I think was the first place. It's been staged all around the world over the years. It's currently showing on Broadway I think.

Oh, I would have loved to hae seen South Pacific. I love musicals. I won't say I'm glad I'm not the only one because that is awful but it is nice to be understood on the memory front. I'm glad you chose Down Under. It's a fun song.

That's the funny thing. I looked at the lyrics for this image and realized there was a lot in there I didn't catch when I was in my 20s. Like the ref to the ladies of the night so to speak.

I grew up with musicals. Both parents were right into, even to the point of being active with an amateur musical stage group for many years. Hrmmph, even dragged us four kids up for Sound of Music. 🤣

@CaylaCatz we do get a lot of Broadway productions here. I saw South Pacific about 3 years ago and that was awesome! Don't worry about the memory, mine is shocking 😂 Hmm, I'll see what I can come up with

Yes I am, in Sydney. I looked at the link, that is way down south in Victoria (another state). I haven't heard it advertised and unless the show came to Sydney, it wouldn't make the news.

I might be misremembering but I thought you referred to being in Australia once. It's actually being performed in Australia in March now. https://limelight-arts.com.au/organiser/nova-music-theatre/

That's great! Glad I found you a new song that you didn't know and that you like

I have never heard that, or maybe I don't remember. And that is a fabulous image Cayla
