Steel against scales. A solitary knight stands his ground as the ancient terror rises from the depths

About this image

This vintage engraved fantasy illustration shows a lone armored knight standing on a jagged rocky cliff, sword pointed at a massive scaled sea serpent emerging from churning turbulent ocean surf. A luminous full moon casts radiating light beams through swirling storm clouds, coloring the scene in moody cool blues, charcoal grey, and off-white tones. The tense, dramatic standoff evokes classic medieval legend and high adventure fantasy themes.
