About the entries
This range of fantasy artwork spans digital illustration, concept art, and storybook illustration, with a mix of dark fantasy, high fantasy, and whimsical fairytale styles. Common subjects include mythological creatures such as mermaids, dragons, chimeras, qilin, nagas, harpies, and other hybrid beings set in atmospheric natural landscapes from misty marshes to alpine peaks and enchanted forests. Color palettes shift between moody desaturated dark tones, soft cool ethereal hues, and saturated warm impressionist brushwork, with moods ranging from serene intimate to tense foreboding and haunting.
