That's too bad. It's fun to see the balloons. I think this is too many. 15 or so sounds good. You want to see some sky too and that's tons of balloons at the NM event. Maybe they just moved yours

That’s great. They used to do something similar in my city—though not with that many balloons; maybe just 15 or 20—but I think they don't do it anymore, or at least I haven't seen it in a long time.

thank you! I agree. Plus they have a night event where the balloons are all lit up. Sounds so cool

Ba Na Hills in Danang, Vietnam? The iconic hand structure would make an awesome backdrop for kitty.

Yeah, I don't know what happens, but around here, everything good gets lost or corrupted...

Adorable! That would be fun to see.

No, I looked into it; they used to call it a "regatta"—like a sailboat race—but they cancelled it, claiming there wasn't enough space for takeoff and landing. The funny thing is that the landing spot depends on the wind; the event lasted several days, so one day the wind might blow from the east and they’d head that way, while the next day it might come from the southwest and they’d go to a completely different location. They could land anywhere after crossing the finish line or meeting the requirements—even in neighboring towns outside the municipality. And, "coincidentally," the old takeoff area is now packed with vacation homes. But believe me: there are hundreds, if not thousands, of other spots in the area. That said, they replaced it with a mediocre 40-minute drone show... one that, almost certainly, costs a lot more.

maybe it stopped with covid and didn't get restarted. That happened with some events. If that's the case, they may eventually restart it. You never know.
