After the oil painting in Fauvism, thought I'd try the watercolour. First attempt was way off. After some discussion with Claude, decided to try a photographic styling, which worked well.

About this image

A peaceful portrait of a woman in a pink floral kimono kneeling on a sunny garden path, her hands pressed together in a mindful prayer pose. The warm golden-hour light and soft pink blossoms create a tranquil, meditative mood ideal for wellness, mindfulness, and self-care content.

A serene woman in a pink kimono-style robe sits in a kneeling meditation pose with hands in prayer, bathed in warm, golden sunlight. The painting-like scene features lush garden flora, soft pastel blooms, and a tranquil, contemplative mood that evokes mindfulness and inner peace.

A digital illustration shows a serene woman in a pink floral kimono kneeling with hands in prayer, bathed in a warm sun halo. The vibrant garden background with red flowers and greenery emphasizes a calm, meditative mood and blends mindfulness with Japanese-inspired attire.

It's interesting to see the same image in 3 styles: comic book, painting and photography. For me, I like the painting one. Feels like acrylics or oil with the background done in impressionistic style and the focal person done more realistically. They are all cool tho.

@DavidP on the watercolor, was ink also in the prompt? It's the ink lines that give it the comicbook/graphic novel vibe. Some artists do use watercolor in making their graphic novels. The artwork can be quite superb in them. On covers too. Frazetta was known for making oil paintings of his covers.

@DavidP try it again without the word ink? in most RL watercolors I've seen, people don't use ink. When it's combo watercolor and ink that I've seen, it's been more of the graphic novel style.

🤣 that's good. And you only have yourself to blame as I never tagged at all until you said I should. Then I tagged without giving it any further thought.

@DavidP Yes, and only one notification, thank you (unlike the two you used to send because you'd tag regardless of who started the thread haha).

Thanks. 3 was the original, intended to be a watercolour painting. If I had to choose I'd also pick 2, I do like that oil painted styling

I like the lighting in the photography image best, but I think the ground looks more comfy in the other images :) :) :)

I finally figured out this reply thing, obvious I guess. I think you'll get notified that I have replied to you- did you?

  • @DavidP ·

Yes, it was watercolour and ink in the style of John Singer Sargeant in the original series

The realism worked well. Really, I like the middle too even though it's not really watercolor.
