My other artworks for the Dragon Tattoo Awakens Challenge. This series was inspired by Hong Kong martial arts and gangster movies. After finishing it, it suddenly occurred to me that there would probably be quite a few entries featuring dragons emerging from a woman’s bare back. I thought my male bare-back version, set in a more violent scene and showing the aftermath of a fight, might be at a disadvantage against them. By then, it was already too late to completely change direction, so I created a female bare back version based on the same aftermath-of-a-fight concept. In the end, though, I still submitted the male version, partly because I was curious to see how it would fare, and partly because I wanted to deviate from the female characters I’d been using in many of my previous challenge submissions.
