This series was inspired by Hong Kong martial arts and gangster movies. After finishing it, it suddenly occurred to me that there would probably be quite a few entries featuring dragons emerging from a woman’s bare back.
I thought my male bare-back version, set in a more violent scene and showing the aftermath of a fight, might be at a disadvantage against them. By then, it was already too late to completely change direction, so I created a female bare back version based on the same aftermath-of-a-fight concept.
In the end, though, I still submitted the male version, partly because I was curious to see how it would fare, and partly because I wanted to deviate from the female characters I’d been using in many of my previous challenge submissions.
