[Vintage 1950s pulp fiction book cover "Desire Between the Lines" showing two women in an intimate close embrace]
This stylized retro sapphic pulp fiction paperback cover for *Desire Between the Lines* is rendered in the iconic dramatic 1950s pulp illustration style. The moody, warm-toned artwork features two women in vintage satin evening gowns leaning into a tender near-kiss, with worn distressed cover detailing, taglines celebrating hidden forbidden queer love stories, and a stack of vintage romance novels on a nearby side table. Bold golden title text and a dim midcentury home interior setting perfectly capture the nostalgic, provocative tone of classic midcentury queer pulp media.

Beneath those wonderfully dramatic covers was something far more lasting: a secret literature that helped countless women discover they were not alone.
