Stormfang: Charge of the Shieldmaidens

Entry in the War Beast Rider challenge.

About this image

This cinematic dark fantasy artwork depicts fierce Norse viking shieldmaidens clad in engraved fur-lined steel armor, charging into battle atop massive, snarling armored war wolves. Gritty muted tones of muddy earth, weathered steel, and roiling storm gray define the scene, with tattered battle banners and a distant besieged castle heightening the tense, high-stakes battle mood. Rooted in Norse mythology, the illustration captures an epic legendary war host advancing across rough battlefield terrain for a dramatic, immersive fantasy battle scene.
