This warm, intimate seasonal scene captures a loving couple sharing a tender quiet moment as they sit embracing on a wooden bench beside a crackling lit brick fireplace. Soft golden glow from the fire and twinkling Christmas fairy lights draped around the mantel and window casts rich warm tones over the space, with snowy winter scenery visible through the adjacent multi-pane window. The calm, affectionate mood emphasizes quiet connection, festive winter home decor, and cozy, peaceful holiday togetherness.

Well, she takes it a bit further with her writing philosophy that 'a happy ending must be earned.' In other words, the sorrow doesn't just enrich the joy and love, it somehow justifies or even enables it. (I sometimes tease her that for a former evangelical, that's a rather Buddhist view of karma haha.)

Indeed it does. Gael is of the 'can't have joy without sadness' crowd, and while I'm not sure I agree with that, life is certainly full of both.

As much as it breaks my heart, I have to agree. I wrote tragedy into my story because it enriches the love, devotion and joy that much more.

thats sad . i like the fantasy that you live in a world of kisses in front of waterfalls. :). Dont change what you make for me

Great video and iconic song. I even play and sing it periodically. I love the Gary Jules version for the Donnie Darko soundtrack

justrob

yay! Its going to be sad when you leave. Do please keep in touch!

JustAsh

Beautifully touching.... It makes your chest tight and your heart ache doesn't it?

JustAsh

Ahhh, enlightenment through suffering? That is a very Eastern concept for sure...

Indeed, life contains both joy and sorrow. Thanks, Base!
