The curse of the werewolf was upon him and he did not remember himself. Once upon a time he served as paladin at the temple of the Fire Goddess. Since they were sisters, the Fire Goddess could not fully break the Moon Goddess's curse. She could ameliorate it tho so that he was only a werewolf on the nights of the full moon. Meantime the Fire Goddess called her Knight and Priestess to her. She put a quest upon them to find the one who cursed her Paladin. She gave them both a shield, a thin aura clinging to them like an invisible membrane. Any curses thrown at them would bounce back to the sender. She was not a happy Goddess. Someone had stolen one of hers. He could no longer serve as her Paladin until his curse was lifted.
