Inner World of Odysseus My alternative artwork for the Inner World Portrait challenge. I was torn between submitting this or the Monkey King. Final submission: https://budgetpixel.com/p/64767

About this image

This rich, painterly digital fantasy artwork collages every iconic event from Homer's epic Odyssey, anchored by a close-up portrait of Greek hero Odysseus on the left edge. Warm golden sunset and cool stormy blue hues contrast across the composition, featuring the Trojan Horse at Troy, cyclops Polyphemus, Poseidon, sirens, the underworld, Scylla, Charybdis, and other obstacles from Odysseus' long journey home to Ithaca. The dramatic, atmospheric art style leans into the grand, sweeping mythic tone of classic ancient Greek epic storytelling.

Yes, that's what I thought too! Most people are probably more familiar with Odysseus, especially since the movie is out now. But I also felt that a monkey portrait might stand out because I imagine most of the artwork will be based on human faces. It was a tough call! I love both 😅

I would have submitted this because of recency bias and people are likely more familar with Odysseus than Monkey King. Nevertheless, happy that the Monkey King won you top 10.
