Belle, the faery, and Rie, the mechanic, at home in their secret hideout home with Alex, the robot cat, and Tabitha, the robot dragon. In the back is a portal to Belle's homeworld. In the front, which we can't see as that's where we're sitting and viewing them, is a flat stone wall, which sets in a cliff wall. The stone wall can slide up either with Belle's invocation or with Rie's tap on a rock. There's a small rocky bit on the outside and on the inside that Rie can tap to get in and out. Both Rie and Belle like to experiment. Rie is a mechanical genius who is great at mcgyvering stuff out of junk. Belle is in trouble at home because while her magic is powerful, it tends to go haywire so she's not exactly welcome in her homeworld. Not exiled but she does have a huge bounty on her. Belle was ill. She's mostly ok now but can be unexpectedly fatigued. The result of the illness was it tripled the power of her magic, & may have added some abilities she's not sure about. It's a rare illness that few fae survive. Those that do survive are hunted by her world's clerics & aristocracy due to their augmented abilities. Of course the clerics & aristocrats don't call it hunted; they call it recruited. To be fair, the clerics & royal training programs help the Changed to control their abiltiies. The Changed are very well rewarded and can send wealth home to their familes. But the Changed live in gilded cages and must do what their owners demand. They cannot go or do what they want and few escape once they are "recruited". Bella was never caught. She accidentally found the portal to Rie's place. The downside is her powers are very wonky. She's trying to learn to control them by herself. Bella had put a little spell on Alex & Tabitha to make them run a little longer without oil. It worked. They no longer need fuel at all! But the robots came alive & now have personalities, intelligence & needs of their own. They now how to use Rie's rock and often go in & out when they want.
