Yeah, that's what I thought. Google says: Nerval reportedly strolled the gardens of the Palais-Royal in Paris with his pet lobster, Thibault, on the end of a long, bright blue silk ribbon. When questioned by curious onlookers and doctors about the absurdity of walking a crustacean, he famously responded: "I have a liking for lobsters. They are tranquil, serious and they know the secrets of the sea."

hahaha, he bought her small and cheap to fatten her up and eat her, but he grew fond of her until, while preparing a warm bath for her, he accidentally cooked her. Then, while the family waited to eat her, he ate her all by himself without sharing, saying, "She would have wanted it this way."
