  I should point out, though, that this place is a "safe harbour", meaning everyone who comes here is safe, and off limits. no violence can be done. It's enforced by magic using the Babylonian punishment system "eye-for-an-eye", and it is carried out immediately. If the system can prevent you from committing the crime, it will instead put you to sleep for a certain amount of time, dependent on the severity of the crime you were about to commit, anywhere from a few hours to a month or more. If the crime was too severe, it would still put you to death, even though it prevented you from committing it. The magic system extends for many miles in every direction. Nobody is sure just how far, but once any ships enter that zone, they are safe from any form of violence, including krakens. They are not safe from self-inflicted stupidity, however.

  I am atwitter with anticipation, Panos. As I understand it, there are depths to this place. Layers. Levels. In the deepest of depths is the place where the safe harbour magic originates. They say it's alive. They say it might be an Eldar god. Now, I don't personally know what that means, but they say the Eldar gods have been gone from the multiverse for many eons. They say that even their children, the Kildar gods are ancient beyond reckoning, and that most people don't even remember them, never mind the Eldar gods. They say that the source of all magic is the Eldar gods themselves, but that is only whispered in hidden places and the back rows of nearly empty movie theaters, whatever those are. No one dares to talk openly about them for fear of displeasing the oligarchy of the current magical elite, who claim more "down-to-earth" origins, namely some of their number "invented magic", the fools. Best not let word of that leak to the Eldar gods, I say, or there might be a reckoning.

  It just popped into m head when Panos suggested a certain pirate ship might stop by. I thought about what would be needed for that, and safe harbour popped in, so then I needed a way to guarantee it. The rest is there plain to see. I don't know if that makes me a master, but I've been called a mistress, lol

  and to hang their ship. What's interesting to me psychologically is that these images do not give me the heebie-jeebies. I feel like I could walk these planks over to that tavrn. And yet the glass bridge spooks me. Makes no sense because objectively this is a lot higher up, lol.

  So what do you think, Panos. Would your wizard have any use for a place like this? Maybe even a name for this place? By the way, I'm pretty sure the building is bigger on the inside, much like Dr. Who's call box and Harry Potter's magic tents.
