Here's my contest entry: Tomorrow’s headline began quietly, like any other night. Finished 18th out of 65 entries. Rebounded a good bit. Caved and entered next challenge. I mean seriously, is my entry that bad? 5W/13L ELO 1444 to start

About this image

A glamorous 1930s hotel lobby featuring rich Art Deco details and a grand chandelier. A stylish couple at the reception, a doorman in uniform, and other well-dressed guests create a luxurious, cinematic vintage atmosphere perfect for a period drama or noir-inspired scene.

Thank you. I do that sometimes and when it does poorly, I'm good with it because it was for me anyway.

There's still time and at this rate I might get there... But I consider myself in good company taking a break.

Thanks. I'm always surprised when the contest ends at what I didn't see.

Sorry to hear Chris. Mine rebounded a bit, hopefully yours does too!

Thank you! Appreciate the votes and glad you liked it. It has rebounded a bit. It won't be in the top 10 but I feel better about it.

  • @Sealine ·

Appreciate it! I have seen a little rebound.

I made it back to mid 1500s

    That's awesome! Very film noir!

Honestly, I think it was an interesting idea but lacks the structure and ordered starting position of classical OTB chess tournaments. So I suspect even the order in which you are matched in your own sequence as well as the sequence of those your are matched against, combined with the random way people pick, means that the results are a lottery. Honestly I'd prefer King and Chenia to publish a set of criteria and then the two of them decide, or give an AI BoT the criteria and brief and let it decide. Just give me the 300 credits for participating and tell me the result - can't imagine it would change my results a great deal. I know that is unlikely and really don't know how bets to do this. Perhaps let everybody pick their top 10, 10 points each time you are picked first etc and highest score wins. I've never timed how long it takes to make 30 picks. And all this means I note my place for my post and don't give it a second thought.
