Only the second part is correct, as a paying subscriber would not accept that. As a site owner you have to see for yourself what works and what does not. I own two subscription & membership sites for more than 20 years. I had to try various ways to increase business, some fail, some work. It's all about "live & learn".

It's a move to 'reward' subscribers and "lure' free-users to subscribe. Obviously, results on the second point will not be what they think. 🙂

Well, i meant that - in their mind - they say to their subscribers: Look, your images are watermark-free, while the "other guys'" not. Now, if they care or not - it;s another matter. I talked about it with two friends, both subscribers. One said: Yes, I find it correct. The other said: I like your images so much and now they have this stupid WM. I don't like that at all.. My own opinion, most subscribers will want more substantial privileges as paying customers. This wil be indifferent to them.
