How are Elo points calculated? it would be great to learn.

King also replied to me that when people skip entries then those are also prioritised to try to ensure all entries are in similar number of matchups. Honestly I think knowing how the algorithm works is not worth a great deal. If really inetrested, understanding how the chess ELO rating system works would probably be more interesting. Given the nature of how people vote, so random given no hard and fast criteria, I view the placings a lottery. But sometimes I think it ends well. I think 1st and 2nd in Spy Girl were quite outstanding. Many of the rest of the top 10 were all decent variations of a pretty commonplace idea.

It says- Pairs are chosen to prioritize entries with fewer matchups and similar ELO ratings, ensuring fair and balanced comparisons. Beating higher-rated entries earns more points so #5 won more points than #8 because they beat top 3? maybe

Do some Google research on the chess ELO rating system, which it is based on. Perhaps no precisely the same but the concept is the same

For me it's a puzzle.
