The funny thing as a Japanophile not a weibo is that I often see Western women wearing this not realizing in Japan youngsters have about a year to go crazy before having to really go into society as 'workers'. That is when most wear these outfits. After, they get mainstream quite fast. Thankfully not all of them.

Yay, you like it. The thing is with -punk it can have a hypermaximalist effect and a lot of details that fit with the prefix word. You're into history. You might try it with a history specific word. Like edojidaipunk. although sometimes -punk also adds steampunk and cyberpunk effects so it's a mixed bag.

Yeah, but some of them carryon with it after work hours. My girlfriend in Tokyo has different outfits for different things. She has a reggae outfit for when she goes and sings in a reggae band and it includes a wig with hanging braids. and the other people in the group are salarymen. They don't really do gigs tho. They practice all year for one event and that's their public performance for the year. The band might have broke up tho.
