[Caption] The bride is turning into an agent of terror. For some reason the first thing that came to mind when I saw Gothic was The Grim Reaper. So naturally I thought of coming up with a design that blends both the reaper and bride by taking one half on each side. While it is already challenging trying to gel two halves of distinct characters into one, I became ambitious again by trying to do a background shattering effect of a church's tinted windows, to create the terror effect of the reaper. Needless to try, there is a lot of time and credits being burnt to put all the challenging elements together and fine tuning to a look and feel I was looking for. Again, it is the story of overthinking and I tried to layer too much things into a visual. I thought I will end up at the bottom half of the pool, so to be ranked 30 out of 76 is a good result considering there were many more impressive entries than mine.

I've been here for a while now, and I can tell you that creativity isn't exactly rewarded in the Challengers. The times I've placed in the top 3, it's been with more obvious, less polished images, mainly due to lack of time. I think you have to understand it that way and see it as a place to create. Otherwise, it can get frustrating. There are some challenges we do amongst ourselves called QT, where there are no prizes; it's just about throwing out an idea, and whoever wants to can make their own version. That's where we really unleash our creativity. You can join if you'd like.
