There is a combination of elements, most notably for me are how realistic can you make it and, especially on video, what can you direct your characters to do. I also love bringing reality to unreal items/characters. And of course, transposing evil and good. The best stories not only contain the elements of good and evil, but often both sides consider themselves to be the good one!
