They are from the outer planes (Gehenna, Hades, Carceri) ... but if you can make appear demons and devils, you can also make these guys appear ... except that devils are interessted in mortal souls, demons just kill you for fun ... but if you don't pay Yugoloths enough, they don't give a 💩 about the material plane 😉 As they say it on this page "Most warlords of the Material Plane couldn't afford to maintain a daemon mercenary company for any significant length of time, much less keep their loyalty." https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Yugoloth

  • @TheBard ·

You definitively should visit the outer planes, for example in the "Baldur's Gate - Descent into Avernus" Adventure you go to hell 😁 ... and you definitively should visit Sigil the most interesting City in the multiverse 😁 ... if you don't have a roleplaying group now, you could play "Planescape Torment" (the game is over 25 years old, but still fun and mostly playing in Sigil) ... you can get it on Steam or other game platforms. https://store.steampowered.com/app/466300/Planescape_Torment_Enhanced_Edition/

Glad you like it 😊 In DnD are the Demons (chaotic evil), the Devils (lawful evil) and the Yugoloths (neutral evil) ... the Ultroloths are the leaders of the Yugoloths. The Yugoloths are not very popular, they are mostly just mercenaries in the blood war, fighting for whoever pays the most ... so they are financially evil 😈

Ah, the Outer Planes. Our DM (we mostly played in his house) had a big book on the among his many compendiums, that I was always leafing-through. I always was urging him to take us there but the other guys were always like: No, no, let's go to UnderDark etc.

  • @panos ·

Oh, I have "Torment" in my HD YEARS now and still I've not strated it.... (Our glorious Party is no more, years now. Most are fat inkeepers these days😉)

  • @panos ·

Spooky guys! I have not played D*D many years now, but our DM never brought us against them. Or are they not in Forgottern Realms?

  • @TTRPG_Player ·

Cool, I learn here so much new things. I have to check later what an Ultroloth is, I ahve not heart of them so far....

  • @TheBard ·

P.S. You can find these guys in the Monster Manual 3 (DnD 3.5) ... not sure, where/if they are also in DnD 5

  • @TheBard ·

Thank you for the support, glad you like it 😊

  • @TheBard ·

That's how most adventurers end 😁
