This is pretty close to what my fathers airplane looked like when I was a teenager. I soloed in 4997M and took my drivers test on my 16th birthday so many years ago. Talkeenta Alaska was a fantastic place to be a kid. Our paint scheme was a little different (different stripes and tail), and we had wingtips and flaps, and much bigger tires. But i spent many hours in a plane like this, grabbing a fishing pole, flying up the Susitna River to a sandbar I could land on, and fishing where it was likely no one ever had before... Fabulous days of old.
