Well, the first one was a real shocker. I watched it in VHS at my mid-teens and I can say it scared me as very few other horror movirs have done. (The Omen, watched by the wholr gang, when we were all 11-13 yo takes the cake) The next movies wre kind of self-parodies, but still splatter films. I have not seen the rather recent remake, but I watched the whole TV series with the same actor playing Ash, older now. Great splatter fun

Splatter? Ewww! I thought it was comedy horror from comments people dropped. I might not watch it after all. I don't like most horror movies but I don't mind the ones that are more comedic with funny lines or bits
