The Tarot Major Arcana Part 4
By JustAsh
This is part 4 of of a Tarot project I'm working on that I've labeled the Sapphic Cosmic Tarot. I've included images representing the final 4 cards of the Major Arcana here. This concludes the Tarot Major Arcana Set. If you haven't seen part 1 yet you can find it here: https://budgetpixel.com/blog/the-tarot-major-arcana-pt-1 And part 2 can be found here: https://budgetpixel.com/blog/the-tarot-major-arcana-part-2 And part 3 can be found here: https://budgetpixel.com/blog/the-tarot-major-arcana-part-3 As I mentioned previously, the Major Arcana consisting of 22 cards that generally indicate major events in your life or when used by themselves give a more generalized view of life. In part 1 we ended with the card entitled The Hierophant. Part 2 began with The Lovers and ended with Justice. Part 3 will begin with The Hanged Man and ended with The Star. So without further ado... The Moon Traditionally the Moon is all about the unknown, the unspoken, the things you can't see. But what if it's not. What if it's about how the unknown stops being scary the second you are floating through it next to the person you love. The jellyfish are no longer omens. They are guides. The dark isn't a threat. It's just the quiet space between all the stars. They are floating face to face, inches apart, no space between them, their hands almost touching, robes woven through with entire galaxies, starlight spilling from their hair and their skin, the full great moon hanging bright and enormous directly above them like a crown. All around them cosmic jellyfish drift through the void, glowing with every color of the nebula, stardust trailing from their tentacles like comets. The swirling iridescent portals below them, the whole endless deep dark scattered with stars, it feels like floating in the quiet between two heartbeats. This does not have to be the lonely, ominous Moon full of fear and illusion and uncertainty. It can be the opposite. It can be two people floating together through the dark, no fear, no doubt, no uncertainty. They don't have to be afraid of the dark anymore. They don't have to be afraid of what's hidden. They have each other. The quiet loaded tension between them, the way they are looking only at each other, like the moon and the stars and the whole universe don't even exist. You don't have to navigate the unknown alone. You get to drift through all the dark, all the mystery, all the magic, hand in hand. This is what the Moon always could be. Not fear. Not illusion. Not loneliness. Just magic. Just wonder. Just two people drifting together through the dark, surrounded by stardust, finally home. That little golden cord strung between their hands — it's the exact same thread that ties The Star, The Lovers, Temperance, The Tower. Its the throughline. The promise that no matter how far you drift, no matter how dark the void gets, you are always tied together. You are never alone. The Sun It is the single most overwhelming, luminous, breathtaking thing ever made. There is no mistaking it. Not a lone child riding a horse, not a simple sunny pastoral scene — this is the Sun as a goddess. A being of pure, unfiltered light. Her eyes glow like twin supernovas. Golden rays burst out from behind her in a thousand directions, bright enough to outshine every galaxy swirling around her. Her dress is stitched through with sunbursts, opals, planets, entire constellations — the whole solar system woven right into the fabric of her being. That crown, strung with orbiting worlds, sitting on her head like the diadem of the entire universe. This is what The Sun was always meant to be. Not innocence, not childish joy — raw, unapologetic, cosmic power. The life-giving force that holds every planet in orbit, that feeds every living thing, that outshines every darkness. No shadows, no doubt, no illusion. Just pure, unmasked, unapologetic light. She is not just standing in the universe. She is the center of it. Everything else revolves around her. This is joy unbound, clarity, every shadow finally burning away. After The Tower, after The Moon, after all the uncertainty — this is the payoff. This is the moment the light breaks through and there is no more hiding. No more waiting. No more doubt. Everything is illuminated. Everything is real. Everything is good. The thing that hits the hardest? All those years of hurt, all those wasted years, all that quiet waiting — this is the other side of it. This is the light that waits for you on the other end of all the dark. It's bright enough for all of us. This is not about simple happiness. This is about becoming the light. The kind of light that outshines every bad memory, every hurt, every person that ever wasted your time. The kind of light that doesn't need anything or anyone else to glow. It just is. Judgement This is Judgement. Not justice, not balance, not scales — the great cosmic awakening, the moment the veil lifts, the moment all the illusions fall away and you see everything exactly as it is. The celestial figures aren't just standing there holding hands. They are calling you home. The line of glowing soul figures walking towards them down that central path? Those are all the parts of you that have been asleep, all the versions of you that have been waiting, all the old hurt and all the old memories finally rising up to be seen, to be acknowledged, to be healed. The whole universe is lit up, the trumpets are blowing, every veil is torn away, and you are finally, finally awake. This is the moment of the reckoning. The moment you look back at all those wasted years and go "oh. Oh right. That wasn't love. That wasn't respect. That wasn't even close." The moment you see every person who ever hurt you, every lie, every half-truth, every wasted hour, and it all suddenly makes perfect sense. No more confusion. No more doubt. No more "what did I do wrong." All the illusions are gone. And you are not facing it alone. Those two figures standing hand in hand, glowing bright, are all of us. We are the ones calling you forward. We are the ones standing there waiting for you, holding the door open to the next chapter, no more shadows, no more lies, no more waiting. All those past selves walking towards you down that path — they are all the versions of you that never got to be loved right. They are all finally coming home. The World This is the crown jewel. The final, perfect culmination of this entire cosmic arc. The World, not as a little figure standing inside a tiny wreath — but as the whole universe itself. She is made of stardust. Her skin glows with every star in existence, her train flows out behind her in swirling nebulae, she floats, arms outstretched, holding the entire galaxy balanced between her palms. The great rainbow ring of the universe wraps around her like a crown. The four elemental watchers stand at the four corners of the card — fire angel top left, ice angel top right, air angel bottom right, water serpent bottom left — each one bearing witness, each one holding their element in place, all of them bowing to her. This is the end of the cycle. The completion. The moment you step through every door, you survive every tower, you outwait every moon, you burn through every sun — and this is where you land. The whole entire world. Everything. All of it. Yours. The world when just the world is not enough. This does not say "you have reached the end." It says "you are the end. You are the world. You contain every galaxy, every star, every element, every possible universe inside you." All those years of waiting, all those years of hurt, all those years of building — this is the payoff. This is the moment it all comes together. The way the ring of light around her shifts through every color of the rainbow, the way the water serpent is made of entire swirling solar systems, the way each of the four watchers have their own distinct light, no one outshining the other, all of them equal, all of them in harmony. This is balance. This is completion. This is everything coming home. This is the promise. The promise that all the pieces are finally falling into place. That the long journey is almost over. That you are about to step through that final door, and the whole entire universe is waiting for you on the other side. I could stare at this all night. It leaves me speechless. I just went back and stared at it for another ten minutes, and I keep catching new little details I missed the first time. The little tiny swirling mini galaxy right over her shoulder. The way each of the four watchers have a different kind of light — warm golden flame from the top left, cold diamond sparkle from the top right, soft wispy silver from the bottom right, deep iridescent blue from the bottom left. The little planets and stars orbiting around the water serpent like he is carrying whole solar systems on his back. It doesn't promise you a small world. It promises you every world. All of them. Every possible universe, every possible timeline, every possible version of the story where you get everything you have ever wanted. This is the end of the journey. And the beginning of everything else. Thus concludes the Major Arcana. The Fool was the beginning of our journey and The World represents it's end. Beyond the Major Arcana are the Court Cards and the Minor Arcana. The Court Cards represent people in our lives-including ourselves. The numbered cards of the Minor Arcana represent the daily movement and events of our lives. It needs to be pointed out that Tarot does not predict our voyage through life any more than a map predicts which course of many options we will choose to arrive at our destination. Instead it is a guide, it shows us possibilities, gives us directions, provides us with possible outcomes. We may look at the cards and visualize our journey into the future but in the end the cards are simply a portal we look through. It is up to us as individuals to decided when and how we walk through that portal and into the rest of our lives.
