As I mentioned in my previous blog, to create a photo story or a storyboard like this, it is necessary to prepare the entire series of images, or at least all the key images, using one of the image-to-image models to produce all the missing images. GPT Image 2 , as well as SeeDream 5 , are perfect for this purpose. If you want to save credits, you can instruct the model to generate 4 or more panels within a single image. 2K or 4K resolution is more than sufficient for using the created images as panels in your graphic story. Once the image production phase, necessary if you want to have full control of your photo story, is complete, the creation of a comic book or a graphic novel requires the following steps: 1. Layout of the panels on the page. 2. Selection and positioning of caption boxes, speech bubbles, and lettering. Since their size depends on the amount of text they must contain, it is very useful to prepare all the dialogue and caption texts in advance. 3. Correct orientation of the speech bubble tails towards the characters who pronounce the sentences contained within them. If you choose to entrust the AI model with the execution of these steps, you will have to settle for the result provided by the model, or spend time and credits to gradually arrive at a satisfactory result. But how much time? It's not uncommon for a single page with about ten panels to take two hours or more, obviously in addition to the time needed to prepare the images. Remember that all text must be written verbatim and inserted into the prompt, adding the reference panel, character, etc. In any case, the preparatory work is long and the outcome is always uncertain. Isn't there a way to speed up the process and get the desired results right away? Of course there is. It's just a matter of using one of the comic book creation programs you can install on our computer, without resorting to AI models. My favorite is Comic Life : it's simple, intuitive, and full of hidden resources that you discover as you use it. It costs about $30, and, in my opinion, it's worth them, but you can try it for free for a month before deciding whether to buy it. With this small program, after preparing the images, you can complete a comic book page in about an hour, maintaining full control over the layout of the panels and all the written text (speech bubbles, captions and lettering). The final result will be exactly what you wanted, perfect in every detail.
If you have how you want the panelling to be in mind. And the necessary texts and words to use. You can also make use of the design studio here to do layout and panelling. Once the entire layiut is completed. Group select all the image in layout and merge as a single image. Then you can export that as a single image. What is ood for this method is if you want printable quality at super high resolution.

If you mean a program like Photoshop, definitely. I use Pixelmator, which also offers the ability to insert speech balloons. However Comic Life is faster and more intuitive, and offers a lot of useful options. Now that I'm starting to get to know it well, I can create professional-level pages in no time. You are right, and there are other online platforms that allow the same process, but Comic Life offers a lot of flexibility and creativity when it comes to text, speech bubbles and lettering. And you pay for it once and for all 😎
