Champions and Supernatural Mounts in Creation of the Gods (Part 3)

An article inspired by the War Beast Rider challenge . Part 2 Some of the most memorable supernatural combatants in Creation of the Gods appear not as isolated individuals, but as closely connected groups whose members enter the war together. The Three Xiao Sisters and the Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island are two of the clearest examples. Each group has its own distinctive fighting style, magical abilities, and supernatural mounts, and their arrival dramatically changes the balance of the conflict. THE THREE XIAO SISTERS The Three Xiaos— Yunxiao, Qiongxiao and Bixiao —are sisters of Zhao Gongming and among the most dangerous female immortals in the novel. Zhao's death draws them into the conflict despite Yunxiao's initial reluctance. Their intervention culminates in the terrifying Nine-Bends Yellow River Formation , which devastates Chan Sect's elite immortals. 1. Yunxiao Niangniang 云霄娘娘 Sect / Background: Jie Sect; eldest of the Three Xiaos War Camp: Shang/Jie side War Beast: Qingluan (青鸾) Combat Tier: S Yunxiao is the calmest and most thoughtful of the three sisters. She understands that descending into the mortal conflict may fulfill the disastrous fate awaiting Jie Sect, yet she ultimately follows her sisters. Weapons & Magical Skills: Hunyuan Jindou (混元金斗), Golden Jiaojian Scissors associated with the sisters, extraordinary cultivation and the Nine-Bends Yellow River Formation. Notable Feat: The Hunyuan Jindou captures numerous members of Chan Sect's Twelve Golden Immortals and causes catastrophic damage to their accumulated cultivation. Why She Stands Out: Yunxiao's battle record places her far above the stereotypical “female support character.” She is legitimately one of the novel's most dangerous immortals. 2. Qiongxiao Niangniang 琼霄娘娘 Sect / Background: Jie Sect; Three Xiao Sisters War Camp: Shang/Jie side War Beast: Red-Crowned Crane (丹顶鹤) Combat Tier: A Qiongxiao is more impulsive and aggressive than Yunxiao. Zhao Gongming's death immediately pushes her toward revenge. Weapons & Magical Skills: Swordsmanship, Hunyuan Jindou, participation in the Yellow River Formation and high-level Daoist magic. Why She Stands Out: Her fiery temperament makes her the aggressive counterpart to Yunxiao's restraint. 3. Bixiao Niangniang 碧霄娘娘 Sect / Background: Jie Sect; Three Xiao Sisters War Camp: Shang/Jie side War Beast: Hualing Bird (花翎鸟) Combat Tier: A Bixiao shares Qiongxiao's anger over Zhao Gongming's death and eagerly joins the expedition against Zhou. Weapons & Magical Skills: Swordsmanship, supernatural treasures, participation in the Hunyuan Jindou attacks and Yellow River Formation. Why She Stands Out: Bixiao’s Hualing Bird is one of the novel’s most memorable supernatural mounts, combining brilliant plumage with the speed and freedom of a celestial flying beast. THE FOUR SAINTS OF NINE DRAGON ISLAND Among the many supernatural warriors who answer Shang's call for help, few make an entrance quite like the Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island: Wang Mo, Yang Sen, Gao Youqian and Li Xingba. Cultivators living on Nine Dragon Island, the four are recruited by Grand Tutor Wen Zhong to reinforce the Shang campaign against Xiqi. They arrive on four extraordinary beasts—Bian, Suanni, a Spotted Leopard and Zhengning. When the Four Saints charge into battle together, the supernatural aura of their mounts sends ordinary warhorses into panic, causing some to rear, bolt, or throw their riders. Only unusually powerful or supernatural mounts can remain steady in their presence. 1. Wang Mo 王魔 Sect / Background: Jie Sect; one of the Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island War Camp: Shang War Beast: Bian (狴犴) Combat Tier: B Wang Mo is one of four supernatural warriors recruited to reinforce Shang against Jiang Ziya. His beast is traditionally identified as Bian , a fierce tiger-like mythological creature. Weapons & Magical Skills: Daoist cultivation, swordsmanship and magical treasures. Notable Feature: When Wang Mo and his three companions ride forward together, the supernatural presence of their beasts terrifies ordinary Zhou horses. Why He Stands Out: Wang Mo stands out as the leading figure among the Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island, whose combined supernatural mounts, weapons, and Daoist abilities make them far more dangerous together than any one of them would appear in isolation. 2. Yang Sen 杨森 Sect / Background: Jie Sect; Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island War Camp: Shang War Beast: Suanni (狻猊) Combat Tier: B Yang Sen rides a Suanni , an ancient lion-like beast associated with the wider family of Chinese dragon imagery. Weapons & Magical Skills: Daoist cultivation, magical combat techniques and supernatural weaponry. Why He Stands Out: Yang Sen combines Daoist magic with the formidable Suanni, giving him one of the most intimidating presences among the Four Saints and reinforcing the group’s ability to overwhelm ordinary battlefield forces. 3. Gao Youqian 高友乾 Sect / Background: Jie Sect; Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island War Camp: Shang War Beast: Spotted Leopard (花斑豹) Combat Tier: B- Gao Youqian accompanies Wang Mo, Yang Sen and Li Xingba during their intervention against Zhou. His mount is a spotted leopard , emphasizing speed and predatory agility rather than the heavier physical presence of some other supernatural beasts. Weapons & Magical Skills: Daoist cultivation and magical battlefield combat. Why He Stands Out: Gao Youqian's Spotted Leopard gives him exceptional speed and agility, making him one of the most mobile and aggressive members of the Four Saints. 4. Li Xingba 李兴霸 Sect / Background: Jie Sect; Four Saints of Nine Dragon Island War Camp: Shang War Beast: Zhengning (狰狞) Combat Tier: B Li Xingba rides perhaps the strangest of the Four Saints' creatures: Zhengning , whose name itself evokes ferocity and grotesque appearance. Weapons & Magical Skills: Daoist magic and supernatural weapons. Why He Stands Out: Zhengning is one of the least familiar creatures among the novel's supernatural mounts. Unlike a tiger, lion or qilin, its name does not immediately suggest a familiar animal to most modern readers, giving Li Xingba's mount an especially strange and mysterious quality.
