When I saw the challenge, I was thinking of someone stepping into a painting to interact with the world of the painting. My initial concept was a modern female painter entering a painting featuring famous painted women in a girls' night out. I later thought of getting one of the famous painted ladies to exit her own painting to enter into a new painting, but it didn't have the effect I wanted, so I just discarded the portion where she exited her own painting. I guess it suffered the mistake of not having any strong narrative or visually stunning cues to make the piece memorable or stand out. Perhaps I should stick with the original painter concept and give it a caption to explain the narrative - that would have probably got it a slightly higher ranking. Ended up 21st out of 45 entries which I reckon is a position it deserved in the field.
