I saw quite a number of comments saying that the Superhero Landing challenge wasn't particularly inspiring. On the contrary, I found the challenge particularly inspiring, and it led me to come up with many different pieces for submission. Perhaps it was because I was not thinking about creating a generic superhero and simply just landing on asphalt ground, but rather on how to make the landing dramatic and spectacular on various environments. 1 - I was trying to create the mutiple shadow effect of the superhero landing - I always thought that simply just punching the ground does not really tell the full motion of "landing". I could not get the effect I wanted so I just left it out of the final submission. 2 - Inspired by The Matrix where the landing of Neo knocks off multiple agents. 3 - A low angle shot where the landing knocks off the ants/bugs off their ground. 4, 5, 6 - Got to a point where I was thinking about the environment and how to make a big splatter of the things off the various ground. On hindsight, I should have submitted #6. It grew on me everytime I see it.

Oooh #6 is spectacular. And you’ve grasped the spirit of the challenge. What brought me down was “superhero” that word would have invited all sorts of superheroes. And im kinda overwhelmed hy superheroes atm. So it wasn’t all that interesting for me.
