Anthropomorphic animal jazz band performing with instruments in a moody cubist African-inspired jazz lounge
This stunning surreal afrofuturist illustration features an anthropomorphic animal jazz band performing in a moody, intimate vintage lounge. Band members include an antelope saxophonist, black panther drummer, serval double bassist, monkey trumpeter, and crowned crane pianist, all dressed in rich patterned traditional robes alongside geometric, cubist styled instruments. Warm earthy tones of burnt orange, gold, deep brown, and black pair with cubist portrait artwork in the background, evoking the cozy, soulful vibe of a classic African jazz speakeasy.

I am a most basic level musican and play in 4:4 time, so 8:3 is pretty crazy, no idea what it would sound like. And think Dave Brubeck, Time Out album with different time signatures

justrob

this is fantastic. Fantastic style, fantastic poses, just great!

Like the band - crazy time signature

Thank you. Poses and instruments were triggered by "avant-garde jazz band." Harlem Renaissance, the Black Arts Movements and Afrofuturism are art movements associated with jazz, blues, r&b. I used one of them for style without mentioning any artists. It's better not to mention names in prompts as African Americans in particular are sensitive to their art being co-opted or appropriated . I don't know if that is an issue in other countries with minority groups. I thought about the use of the art movements too but I feel there is a balance there. Movements are a large number of people, even outliers who were not part of the original movement. So there are more patterns to dig through, to create more recipes of how those patterns might come together in unique ways to still have that Movements flavor. I don't know if I'm right to think of it that way.

lol, August 3rd. On the animal band theme, people can do anything on any day. But if they want, I also have daily specials. So each day I post one with the daily special showing in case someone wants to do that. Yeah, I only know about 4/4 time. I am way more basic than you

CaylaCatz

thank you! what do you mean by crazy time signature? Spiritual Jazz aka Astral Jazz emerged as a subgenre in the 1960s

Thank you. I do like what Black Arts Movement did here. Although Harlem Renaissance and Afrofuturism is cool too.
