The End of the Once Great Martian Civilization. Almost dry Grand Canals, cities in ruins, monuments fallen, red sand encroaching. A Martian Princess weeps at the death of her culture.

The Dying Martian civilization is a theme branded in my mind from all those science fiction pulp stories of my youth

We may not have read the same thing, but we came to the same conclusion.

Awesome, this is the Earth prequel.

I always thought that! Well done

I still think it'd make a good twist in the story. Like take her, she could definitely evolve into humans as we are today -- just our brains would shrink for some reason as part of evolution. Shrinking brains -- no wonder we forget our history all the time

Nothing, regarding this Mars matter, I don't remember anything; it's all deduction. And I hope I'm wrong because, according to my theories, things aren't going to turn out well for Earth...😄

I've read Earthsea and have the set at home which I recommended to my son. In hindsight I think the first is excellent, and the rest never reach the same quality.

panos

Often happens that way. I read the first two a few years back, realizibg how great it would be readings them in my teens.
