You clearly put thought and care into the piece, and rankings don’t always reflect the quality or feeling of an image. Sometimes voting comes down to very personal interpretations or even just quick visual impact in the moment. Please don’t lose confidence. A 43% win rate shows it did resonate with many voters. Keep creating, keep experimenting, and treat this as useful data, not a verdict on your talent.

Thank you Chris. I appreciate the feedback and looking at some of the top ranking images I wondered if I chose yellows and greens if the same image would have done better. I was focused more on flowers than spring. Quick decisions seem to matter and little details that bother me, like hands and deformed elements don’t seem to bother voters.

Every morning when I go for my exercise walk, I write up my blog post about the challenges. And as you say, you may have noticed that I don't enter the challenge. I love the QTs - themes as (or more sometimes) inspiring than the challenge, love the images I see made by the people who tag me, and not a competition

Can't say I find anything at fault here. There are these things to consider: A) High Quality of most submissions (Sometimes I really agonize over picking one of the matchups) B) Luck. You can't know which images your submission will be matched up.. I don't think I saw more than 1 or 2 submissions that did NOT say "Spring Queen" to me.

See , I find the opposite in voting. I get a bunch of entires that don’t fit the theme, are poor quality or both. And I see them multiple times. I do get some very nice ones as well. But there are always great entries after voting that I didn’t see during. Probably skews my perception.

I think it's your choice of colors. Pink looks rather kitschy, and the picture looks more like something out of a Barbie catalog. This isn't meant as criticism, but it could simply explain the ranking. My picture, by the way, ended up almost at the bottom 😂

Don't worry, I don't understand the voting either. The image is nice, and I remember voting for it. You'll see the one of the deep-sea fish tomorrow; I think the one I submitted was very good, and it's getting bad results... I think the voting system is broken.

Thanks. In addition to the top 10, there 18 more images that placed higher than mine. I honestly am baffled and I'm not sure why I keep torturing myself. I swear no more challenges for me and then by tomorrow night, I'll be creating an entry.

I appreciate the feedback. I'm working on not letting the voting impact me so much. And I do believe it is a flawed system. I am going to take a break and then see if I want to continue with the challenges.

Don't give up, when it's meant to be, it will be. My best position was 4th and I got it by accident. Everything will come in time, you have to persevere. Someday we will win😄
