Elegant 1920s-inspired garden party scene with glamorous women — AI art by @DavidP

I love the art deco style of Tamara de Limpicka. Image 6 is one of my favourites, created on NC with Cherry Picker XL v2.7 1 - the same prompt in GPT 1.5. Artist reference accepted. 2 - a reworked prompt based on a saved style from NC 3 - I used the original as a start image in img2img to test if GPT 1.5 would produce a similar style. While the GPT images are OK in their own right, none achieve the style of the original that I like. 4 - Final Tried the prompt from 2 with a start image using seedream-4.5. Much better. 5 - Tried a different subject with the same start image for style influence.

3&5 come closest, being a little more abstract and also something in their mouths. If you look at the first 3 images, you'll see what I mean about the mouth. She kinda has a signature mouth. The 3rd image is a nude she did abut a bit abstracted. She did a number of them. https://www.famsf.org/learn-engage/read-watch-listen/5-things-to-know-art-deco-tamara-de-lempicka

What a fabulous observation, really interesting. FWIW my expectation is more to 4,5,6 regardless of how authentic it may be. The others didn't seem to capture the art deco as well, and were more photorealistic

Six is a very unique and interesting style. GPT definitely struggled to reproduce it. I haven't done much with GPT and reference but haven't been impressed with the few I did. Which is disappointing.

Indeed. Though none got the de Limpicka style I was after, at least what I expected based on images created in NC

whoops! I miscounted. I meant 4&6. Sorry. Look at those mouths. I agree that 4-6 had more of the art deco vibe

Thanks. Though most not really the style I wanted. Still pleasing enough in their own right

Very cool. I like the different styles used to depict the 1920s. Changes the vibe so much.

They do have a cool style, photorealistic

Thanks. I honestly don't know how authentic to de Limpicka's actual work 6 is but I like the styling. It is reasnoably consistent with many of the other images I created with the prompt styling I developed and used in 2. I too am a little disappointed and surprised GPT didn't do better. In particular the img2img attempt. Also struggled to get by the safety filter.
