Medusa with coiled snake hair faces crumbling stone Olympian god statues outside an ancient Greek temple
This dynamic fantasy artwork depicts Medusa wielding her petrifying gaze as statues of Zeus, Athena, and other Greek gods crumble to dust around a grand columned ancient temple. Sunlit warm tones highlight the intricate gold detailing on Medusa's dark embroidered gown, while flying stone particles create a chaotic, tense mythological battle mood. The cinematic illustration leans into dramatic, high-stakes ancient Greek myth themes.

I thought the theme of "Ancient Power" was pretty interesting as I was toying with a lot of ideas that could give rise to interesting visuals - resurrection, necromancy, magical healing, soul absorption, just to name a few. In the end I went with something a little "safer" - the petrification of Medusa in an intense battle with the Greek gods. On hindsight, maybe I should have tried something a bit more unconventional.
