Fantasy comic panel of steampunk Alice, top-hatted Cheshire Cat, and harvest deities sharing tea in 1587 Vienna
This lush painterly fantasy comic page from the Freaky Fridays series is set in 1587 Vienna, following steampunk Alice, a dapper Cheshire Cat, and Arcimboldo-style harvest allegory characters sharing an ornate porcelain tea service. Rich warm earth tones, intricate Renaissance detailing, and surreal character design blend fairytale, steampunk, and classical art influences. The playful thoughtful dialogue explores allegory, natural cycles, and the joy of whimsical surreal gathering.

Entry in the Surrealism theme on BudgetPixel.

Tea with Alice and the Cheshire Cat Special guests: bountiful deities of the seasons Giuseppe Arcimboldo painted in the 1500s in the Hapsburg Court, Vienna. He did allegorical portraits of people. The surrealists loved his portraits. The AI did not quite capture the uniqueness of his style. He did faces made of fruits, vegetables, fish, books and other things that had allegorical meanings that could be understood by the aristocrats in the 1500s

I thought folks on DeviantArt were really unhappy with AI art. I'd be happy to sell my art but it's not something I ever learned to do. And how could you sell computer art because it's fairly easy to copy and paste. It's on reason why I started to put my name on them. If people do copy them, most don't bother to erase signatures so it could lead people back to me. I know there's Patreon but I'm not certain Alice and Chessie are good enough for patrons. They really don't have a bit following here. Maybe half a dozen people view it regularly and that's after 6 months of dailies. I love doing it so I'm not doing it for popularity but I don't have confidence that people would like it enough to go the next step. Also my roof blew off so i'm in a hotel while it's getting fixed. So my concentration is shot right now. I'll think about these next steps later.

I can read them well. Since I think some of these sheets are very beautiful, it would be preferable for them to have a consistent font in the speech bubbles and for the bubbles themselves to be arranged more elegantly. If I may offer a friendly piece of advice—for what it's worth—when a page turns out well, you could ask the AI to remove all the speech bubbles and then insert them yourself using a program like Comic Life. This lets you choose the shape, color, position, font, size, and—of course—the text, resulting in a perfect finish. Certainly, it means more work, but in case you want to put these sheets together in a comic book, I think it would be worth it! 😎

I understand (I'm also replying to your other message): if you just publish them on BP or similar platforms they are perfect as they are, there's no need to improve them. In my opinion, they are worth something more, but the decision is up to you, obviously. There are platforms, such as DeviantArt and others, where you can sell them, for instance. Now, there's no need to rush or stress, but if you ever decide to spend sometime improving them, just ask me and I'll give you the info you need. 😎

I might do that one day for the best ones but at the moment coming up with ideas daily is getting harder. I used to have Photoshop but I gave it up for the first time in decades. I really miss it tho. And I could do that there. I will check into comic life later. I might ask you what's the name of the website again later when things are not so much in RL. I've got some stressors so concentration is scattered.

Thank you! I can't really name fonts I like because that might be copyright issues? as I don't know really know which ones are public domain. I think the conversation is fun but I actually prefer less text so the font will be bigger. It's hard to read although you can right click and see the image larger by choosing "open image in next tab". I don't think people know to do that

CaylaCatz

thank you! I appreciate when people like the visuals and the conversations. Especially with this one as I thought hte amount of words were a lot for a comic book page. I thought people wouldn't like it but I thought it was interesting and liked it so posted it anyways.

Another outstanding comic sheet (with a more mature version of Alice)! And also a great tribute to Arcimboldo. Only, it would be perfect with more elegant fonts in the speech bubbles, I think... 😎

Thank you! I asked that the two characters be created in the style of Arcimboldo's paintings. They did a fairly good idea with that -- more so with the guy than the woman.
