Portrait of a regal armored king-like figure with a glowing red lightsaber and royal attire.
A dramatic, painterly portrait of a noble warrior wearing ornate armor, a fur-trimmed cape, and a laurel crown. He grips a glowing red lightsaber, blending classical monarchy imagery with sci‑fi fantasy, set against a fiery battlefield backdrop. This striking fusion of renaissance-style portraiture and futuristic weaponry creates a bold, heroic mood.

Thank you! I knew going for a guy-portrait was not a good move from the DC-result perspective - and I was right 🙂But I'm pleasde with him

Basicaky, I do it for the credits. That's the main reason. Early on, the first 4 or 6 DCs I had a series of 4 victories taking all three "medals" 1 time first, 1 time second, 2 times third. (People were fewer then, 30 to 32 at best, and many didn't take it too seriously) That gave me lots of creditz and, mainly, salved my ego, bruised by NC DCs, where among 6000 or so entries, predictably, the first places where out of reach. Since then, I am more relaxed, even MORE so, since some very good entries of mine, which I thought certainly deserved a place in the winning triad, ended up mid-list (A bucket of cold water in my mug, let me tell you). So, when I see a theme, I always create something that I like without any whatsoever toughts about likely winning images.

I share many of our sentiments, and the journey of ups and downs. Closest I got was 4th and objectively think it was worth of 2nd, maybe even 1st. Then I stopped, just too disappointing, and not enough credits for participating to make it worthwhile. Now they reward top 10, and with blog clap targets raised, maybe I will re-join

panos

Yes, they constantly raise the rewards to increase participation. Good move. (I don't know how many users are on BP so as to have an idea about the percentage that take place in the DC)

DavidP

Agreed, offering a reward for top 10 may motivate others to join. They could probably reduce the first 3 and offer more rewards to more people if they really wanted to use the carrots to encourage people

DavidP

That's just too sad. I'd pick those - great quality and a super creative idea and title. --- that's why I don't bother to enter

Going full NSFW also goes always bad. You need a beautiful woman, but her chest needs to be still covered.

Weird is good! (As in Weird Tales 😉)

I'm still staying far away from them! 😛

Very clever, great idea and result
