Everything in Sound Effects and Background Music is published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0): free to use, commercially too, as long as you credit BudgetPixel AI. The same license for individuals, teams and studios of any size.
What you can do
Use it for free, forever
Every sound effect and music track in the library is free — no fees, no royalties, no subscription. CC BY 4.0 cannot be withdrawn from you once you have the file.
Use it commercially
Monetized YouTube videos, podcasts, games, apps, ads, streams, films and client work are all fine.
Modify and adapt it
Trim, pitch, stretch, layer, remix and process the audio into your projects however you like — just say it was changed.
Share it
You may pass the files on, as long as the credit and the licence go with them.
Use it without an account
Downloading requires no sign-up, and this license applies whether or not you have one.
Use both formats
WAV and MP3 downloads carry the same license.
Embed it on your site
Every sound page has an Embed button, and pasting a sound's link into WordPress, Ghost, Notion or Slack embeds a small player automatically. The audio streams from BudgetPixel and links back to the sound.
What you cannot do
Drop the credit
Crediting BudgetPixel AI is the one condition. Put the credit line from the sound's page wherever your project lists sources — a video description, end credits, show notes or a game's credits screen.
Imply we endorse you
You may not suggest BudgetPixel sponsors, endorses or is affiliated with your project, product or views.
Add restrictions for others
If you pass the audio on, you cannot put it under terms stricter than CC BY 4.0 or lock it behind DRM.
Claim exclusive ownership
The audio is licensed to everyone non-exclusively, so no one — you included — holds the exclusive rights that content-identification systems such as Content ID require.
Use it unlawfully or deceptively
No use in illegal, defamatory or deliberately misleading material.
How to credit a sound or track
Each sound and track page shows its own credit line, ready to copy. It names the sound, credits BudgetPixel AI, links the page and names the license:

Where a link is impossible — print, a video without a description — a plain-text credit is fine. If you changed the audio, say so: “adapted from” is enough.

Downloaded before September 23, 2026? Until then the library used a no-attribution license. Files you downloaded before September 23, 2026 stay usable on the terms they came with; anything downloaded from that date on is covered by CC BY 4.0.
Content ID. BudgetPixel never registers library audio with Content ID or any similar system. If a claim ever appears on your upload, dispute it and cite the sound's page and this license.
Everything here is AI-generated. Each sound and track is created by AI, quality-reviewed before listing, and provided “as is” — you are responsible for judging its suitability for your project.
Free generations become part of the library. Audio generated with the free on-page generator may be published to the library (with its prompt text, never your identity) for anyone to use under this license. Signed-in workshop generations stay private to your account.
