Can You Use Seedance 2.5 for Free? Where to Try It (2026)

Not reliably. As of October 26, 2026, none of the free allowances we could verify covers even one 4-second Seedance 2.5 clip, and the free promotions we found have ended. The closest routes are Higgsfield's new-user trial (card verification, if it's still running), Dreamina's $0.29 first month (until October 30) and buying credits, from 600 credits a clip on BudgetPixel. For free video, Wan 3.0 is the closest alternative.

Not reliably. Seedance 2.5 is expensive to run, so the platforms we could check all charge for it, and the free credits we could verify don't add up to a single clip. We checked ByteDance's apps, the big AI platforms and the look-alike sites on October 26, 2026. Here's what's free, what might be, what has ended, the cheapest way to pay, and the free model we'd use instead.

Is Seedance 2.5 free?

Not reliably. ByteDance's official Seedance 2.5 page points to Dola, its assistant app, and to its API. Every platform we could check charges for Seedance 2.5, because each second costs real money to generate. What you'll find are small free credit allowances, trials that leave it out, and short promotions.

Where can you try Seedance 2.5 for free?

None of the free allowances we could verify covers a clip; Higgsfield's new-user trial might, and among paid offers, Dreamina's $0.29 first month comes closest. Here's each platform on October 26, 2026:

PlatformWhat's freeEnough for a Seedance 2.5 clip?
Dreamina (ByteDance)120 credits a day, no cardNo: at 37 credits a second for 720p, the only rate it publishes, that's about 3 seconds; the shortest clip is 4
Dreamina October offer$0.29 for the first month with 1,575 credits, October 21 to 30, then $15 a month (US price, eligible accounts)Yes: about 42 seconds of 720p
HiggsfieldA free trial for new users, announced August 14: five 1080p generations of up to 20 seconds within 24 hours, with card verificationYes, if it's still running; we couldn't confirm
Pippit (ByteDance)Free daily credits; the amount isn't statedUnclear: Seedance 2.5 costs 15 credits a second at 480p there
Dola (ByteDance)Linked from ByteDance's Seedance pageUnclear: we couldn't check it without signing in
CapCut (ByteDance)Free planNo: Seedance 2.5 is for Pro and Ultra members
OpenArt40 trial credits within a 7-day trialNo: a 5-second 480p clip costs 300 credits

Runway125 one-time creditsNo: Seedance 2.5 is on the Pro and Max plans only
KreaFree planNo: Seedance 2.5 needs Pro or above
BytePlus ModelArk (ByteDance's API)Nothing for videoNo: activating Seedance needs $30 of credit
BudgetPixel300 credits a monthNo: the cheapest Seedance 2.5 clip is 600 credits. They cover one Wan 3.0 clip instead

Dreamina's launch post offers Seedance 2.5 to subscriber accounts, so a free account may not see it at all, and downloads from free accounts carry the Dreamina watermark; removing it is a paid feature. The October offer excludes accounts that used Dreamina's earlier 90%-off introductory offer.

Offers that have ended: Dreamina's three-day campaign with four free Seedance 2.5 generations, and three offers for paying subscribers: Melius's free Seedance 2.5 allowance on its Growth and Professional plans (until September 7), Runway's unlimited week on its Max plan (August 7 to 13) and Higgsfield's 33-day unlimited offer (activation before August 9). If a blog post promises you free Seedance 2.5, check its date.

What's the cheapest way to make a Seedance 2.5 clip?

The smallest outlay is Dreamina's $0.29 first month, if your account qualifies. With no subscription, buy credits and make short 480p clips. On BudgetPixel:

ClipCreditsAt the credit-pack rate
4 seconds at 480p (the shortest)600$0.60
5 seconds at 480p750$0.75
5 seconds at 720p1,650$1.65

The clip at the top of this page is our 5-second 480p test: 750 credits, and the chef says his line word for word. The smallest credit pack is $10 for 10,000 credits, enough for 16 clips like the first row, and the credits don't depend on a plan. For prices on every other platform, see Seedance 2.5 pricing, platform by platform.

Is there a free alternative to Seedance 2.5?

Yes: Alibaba's Wan 3.0 is the closest. It also makes up to 30 seconds with sound, from a prompt, frames or references, and on BudgetPixel it costs 60 credits a second at 480p, so a free plan's 300 monthly credits make one 5-second clip. Here's the same prompt on both models:

Seedance 2.5 · 750 credits
Wan 3.0 · 300 credits (free plan)
The same ramen-bar prompt at 480p, 5 seconds each. Both say "Careful, it's hot." Sound plays from the Wan 3.0 clip.

New users of Alibaba Cloud Model Studio, Wan 3.0's maker's own platform, also get 30 seconds of free Wan 3.0 video (input and output combined) over 90 days, through its developer API in the Singapore (international) region. And unlike Wan 2.2, Wan 3.0's model weights haven't been released, so it can't run on your own computer either. Our Wan 3.0 guide covers each mode with test clips.

How do you get the most out of free or cheap credits?

  • Test the prompt on a cheaper model first. Run it on Wan 3.0 at 480p (60 credits a second), then move the version that works to Seedance 2.5.
  • Use the shortest length that shows the idea: 4 or 5 seconds.
  • Draft at 480p. On BudgetPixel, Seedance 2.5's Draft mode makes a 480p preview at 150 credits a second, and the 1080p final keeps the same shot.
  • Leave reference videos out until you need them. Generated sound, reference pictures and reference audio cost nothing extra on BudgetPixel; a reference video adds 80 to 375 credits a second.
  • A failed generation costs nothing on BudgetPixel, so a refused prompt doesn't eat your credits.

How do you avoid fake Seedance sites?

Check the domain before you pay. Seedance's official home is seed.bytedance.com, and ByteDance offers it in its own apps, including Dreamina, CapCut and Pippit. Several sites with "seedance" in the name are run by others, and say so on their own pages:

  • seedance.tv: its FAQ answers "Is this the official Seedance website?" with "No", and says it isn't affiliated with ByteDance.
  • seedance.ai: describes itself as an independent platform, not affiliated with ByteDance.
  • seedanceai.net: describes itself as an independent AI community with no affiliation with ByteDance.

Independent sites aren't scams by default, and some offer a few free credits. Just know whose service you're paying for, and what model you're really getting.

Can you use free Seedance 2.5 videos commercially?

It depends on the platform's terms for your plan, and sometimes on the model. On BudgetPixel, the Free plan, including accounts that only buy credit packs, is for personal, non-commercial use; Basic adds limited commercial use and Premium full commercial rights, and some models are for personal use only on any plan. Check the terms before you publish. On Dreamina, downloads from free accounts carry a watermark.

Questions people ask

Is Seedance 2.5 free?

Not reliably. As of October 26, 2026, none of the free allowances we could verify covers a 4-second clip, and the free promotions we found have ended. The closest routes are Higgsfield's new-user trial, which needs card verification and may have ended, Dreamina's $0.29 first month (October 21 to 30, 2026) and buying credits.

Can I use Seedance 2.5 for free on Dreamina?

Probably not, as of October 2026. Dreamina gives free users 120 credits a day, and Seedance 2.5 costs 37 credits a second at 720p there (the only rate it publishes), so a day's credits buy about 3 seconds while the shortest clip is 4. Dreamina's launch post also offers Seedance 2.5 to subscriber accounts.

Is there a free trial of Seedance 2.5?

Possibly one, as of October 2026. On August 14, 2026, Higgsfield announced a free trial for new users: five 1080p generations of up to 20 seconds within 24 hours, with card verification. We couldn't confirm whether it still runs. Dreamina's four free Seedance 2.5 generations have ended.

What's the cheapest way to use Seedance 2.5?

The smallest outlay is Dreamina's $0.29 first month, if your account qualifies: 1,575 credits, about 42 seconds of 720p, from October 21 to 30, 2026, then $15 a month. With no subscription, a $10 credit pack on BudgetPixel makes 16 four-second 480p clips at 600 credits ($0.60) each.

Can I use Seedance 2.5 on BudgetPixel's free plan?

Not with the free credits alone, as of October 2026: the 300 monthly credits are half the cheapest Seedance 2.5 clip, which costs 600 credits for 4 seconds at 480p. A credit pack covers it, and the free credits do cover one 5-second Wan 3.0 clip.

Is seedance.tv the official Seedance website?

No. Its own FAQ says it is not affiliated with ByteDance. Seedance's official page is seed.bytedance.com, which links to ByteDance's Dola app and its API.

Can I run Seedance 2.5 on my own computer for free?

No. ByteDance offers Seedance 2.5 through its apps and its API, and there's no public download of the model.

Is there a free alternative to Seedance 2.5?

Wan 3.0 is the closest. It also makes up to 30 seconds with sound, and on BudgetPixel's free plan the 300 monthly credits cover one 5-second 480p clip. New Alibaba Cloud Model Studio users also get 30 seconds of free Wan 3.0 video, input and output combined, over 90 days, through its developer API in the Singapore (international) region.

Try it yourself

A 4-second 480p clip costs 600 credits. On the free plan, try Wan 3.0 instead.
