Modifying Color and Style with GPT 2.0
By Sealine
GPT 2.0 image to image is a very versatile tool. It can be utilized in a multitude of ways. For this blog, I'm going to be focusing on modifying an image you've already created with a new color palette and/or style. Recently, I created a series of images of a woman in crochet outfits. Left is the original followed by two images modified with different color palettes. You can prompt for the change in colors, or you can upload a reference image. In this case, I saved images of color swatches put together in fun combinations and used these as a reference in combination with the original. My prompt simply read - Recreate first reference with color palette of second reference. Change outfit color and background. Do not change hair color. It can be really fun to play around with colors and see how they change the feel of an image. The advantage of using image to image instead of a new creation is you can keep the image exactly like it is, changing just one variable. No worry about the randomness of seeds we can't modify giving you something different. Here's another example of some images I modified using color swatches from when I first started trying the technique. The far right is the original prompted colors while the other two are modified with new color palettes I used as references (like the ones above). The ridiculously simple prompt - Use first reference but in color palette of second image. The next image I created with a very simple prompt - Stunning mountainous lake at sunset image in 4 panels. One continuous scene. Each panel uses one of the color palette references. (I then supplied four different color palettes like the ones above which resulted in the image below.) Next, I decided to change the style using GPT 2.0 image to image. With the above supplied as a reference, the prompt was simply - Change image to this style: Impressionist style painting with loose visible brush strokes. I almost exclusively use GPT 2.0 medium 1K (left) but for comparison, I also ran this with GPT 2.0 low 1K (right). For the header, I recreated in a fun style I hadn't used in a while. I find it can make really fun landscapes. The prompt - Change image to this style: Vibrant stained-glass inspired watercolor painting, outlined intricately in detailed black for mosaic effect.
