Exactly -well, I don;t know how he made his carrer decisions. (BtW, I am absolutely certain, without ever having confirmed it that Straczynski's 'Alfred Bester' name for the charcter was a hat-off to classic SF author of the same name. One of his iconic books was "The Demolished Man" (1953) In it is described a society where telepathy is everybody;s talent and it features telepathic cops. Fits with Koenig's character of the same name is the chief of a telepathic cops agency - though they're rather sinster.)

Yeah, he said he liked the Babylon role a lot because with Chekov he was more just commenting on things going on but with Bester he had an active role that moved the plot along. J. Michael Straczynski created Bester specifically for Koenig. I am so suprised he didn't go into doing comedy films as he had a great sense of timing, and his dead-pan delivery of the lines about how everything originated in Russia was hilarious

Indeed! Most of the original crew are gone now. As I mentioned to Cayla, I read an obituary for him from Variety and was puzzled, because, though they mentioned some unknown minor roles of his, they made no mention that he played in Babylon 5, a big production show and a great success.

He was great!! I read a bio, from Variety. Strangely, although they mentioned many b- and c- roles in obscure movies, they did not mention his role as Bester in another great science fiction series, Babylon -5

I think Wiki said the name was a nod to a scifi writer but I didn't know the writer. I should have known you would know who it was.

I didn’t know; rest in peace, now he can see the stars. And what a great role he played in Babylon 5

legion

Yes, only Kirk and Sulu remain; the others are among the stars.
