Crowned king and queen sit on an ornate golden throne platform held aloft by a straining crowd of people
This dramatic allegorical fantasy artwork features a royal king holding a scepter and queen in lavish gilded fur-lined robes seated atop an opulent golden throne. Warm glowing golden light filters through towering cathedral hall columns, contrasting the gilded regal upper scene with the grim, exhausted mass of commoners straining to hold the royal platform aloft. The mood is tense and thought provoking, exploring themes of hierarchy, power and the unrecognized labor supporting the ruling class.
