❤️‍🩹 Leaving Home ❤️‍🩹 This image was made by @DavidP, who gave us permission to use it as our final post before we leave the US. Our closest AI art friends have been aware of our desire to leave since earlier in the year, and the time has finally come to make it happen. To be clear, the Orange Tyrant is not the only reason for our move. Yes, he’s dismantling American Democracy, replacing it with Far Right Fascism, and directing hateful vitriol towards trans folks; but the real problem and reason for our leaving is conservative’s underlying hatred towards the broader LGBTQ+ community. People on the right often like to say, “If you don’t like it here, then leave.” Well, guess what? If you make the US awful enough for enough people, people WILL leave. In fact, things have gotten so bad here that the country’s population may experience a decline for the first time in our 250 years of existence! So, well done, MAGA Fascists and conservatives more broadly—you’ve made so many folks miserable that more people may leave/die than arrive/be born. To the Americans remaining behind, we have one main piece of advice: Stop voting for Republicans and conservatives in general! They only care about the Epstein class, lack empathy more broadly, and will continue to ruin the country as long as they’re in power. Don’t know who to vote for? See who Bernie Sanders is endorsing and vote for them. Bernie is too old to run for president now, but he actually cares about improving the lives of regular people. I won’t be posting as much once we’re living abroad, as I hope to get off my computer and spend more time being active in nature. But my partner and I both wish everyone well and hope that American Democracy can be restored; we also hope that Americans will increase their empathy and realize that caring about others will improve their own lives.
