Yes, and sorry, but that's what I meant -- DaVinci Resolve is free for the base version. Shot Cut is open source and thus completely free, although like GIMP (for image editing), I find I have to ask Gael or search up every little thing I want to do in Shot Cut (although to be fair, I have to do that with DaVinci Resolve as well haha).

I haven't figured out how to post something I uploaded here outside of doing so in a blog. And I've been trying to put together enough visual content for another blog for a minute. Taking exerts from the novel doesn't always translate well to both a blog format and multiple visual images.

But something by the Glenn Miller band would be perfect for this scene. You could even add a second audio track that just adds some radio hiss to get the period feel. (But if you don't have any video editing experience, feel free to pass haha.)

Honestly, that's pretty normal we've found when it comes to animations. In fact, we're probably more like one in four worth using (and sometimes we never get it even after half a dozen attempts). Animations are really like gambling haha.

1943. In the scene as written they are listening to a Glenn Miller broadcast on the BBC. To add the music I want the only way I've found that works so far is to use an external editor.

Oh and I tried to do this video three different ways and every single one f*cked up the position of their hands at some point in the video. This was the best of the three attempts.

I believe it. And videos burn credits way faster than images. Only reason I've done several over the last week or so is because I had a bunch of expiring credits to use.

JustAsh

Yeah I use MS Clipchamp myself. It's free, it's easy to understand and it has most of what I need for basic video editing.

Very nice, Ash! You should some old-timey music as a sound track. What year is this?
