(No Caption) I did not have much interesting concepts in mind for the challenge except for the usual alien fighting and oxygen depletion - was not much of a fan of space related stuff. I remembered seeing some visuals for the past challenges that cleverly use the reflection of helmets to show the wearer's point of view. So I decided to lean in to that concept and had the helmet cracked halfway to focus on both the wearer's fearful expression as well as the reflection of the ongoing fight with a large alien on Mars. Did not expect to get lucky and scrape through top 10, clinching the final spot - was already contented if this had ranked in the middle of the pool. Congrats!! 🥳🥳 I got my vote in at the last minute! When I first saw this, my immediate thought was, "Wait, he can't breathe out there, can he?" I'll be honest, I usually vote against entries where characters are outside without spacesuits (and there were quite a few!). But yours is different. The character didn't just ditch the suit intentionally—it actually broke. More importantly, you captured the survival and horror elements perfectly. Plus, the entry you were matched up against was definitely weaker and just didn't have that same sense of urgency. Glad I didn't vote you out! 🤣
