Entry in the Women of the Dark theme on BudgetPixel.

**HELL-FAIRIES — The Night the City Surrendered** Nobody knew where they came from, and nobody dared ask where they were going. Shortly after midnight, the first horned beauty appeared in the middle of a filthy, rain-soaked street, her enormous wings spreading beneath the flickering neon lights. Then came another, and another, until the night sky was filled with terrifyingly beautiful women descending from the darkness. Hardened pimps who had ruled these streets for decades suddenly forgot how to speak, police officers discovered that their badges offered little protection, and the ladies of the night watched in frightened fascination as the creatures walked among them. Some people screamed, others ran, and a few women dared to reach out to their mysterious visitors. The hell-fairies neither hurried nor explained themselves. They simply advanced, confident, powerful, and utterly unimpressed by the men who had once considered themselves masters of the neighborhood. By dawn, the streets would belong to someone else. Whether the city had witnessed an invasion, a liberation, or the beginning of something far more dangerous remained to be seen.
