Sleeping woman whose hair flows into a surreal moonlit fantasy realm of floating castles and giant moths
This richly detailed surreal fantasy illustration depicts a dreaming woman, her cascading dark hair twisting into winding stone stairways stretching across a misty cloudtop realm. Glowing gothic floating cathedrals, giant celestial moths, a huge full moon, and robed timekeeper statues fill the atmospheric, dreamlike scene, with moody cool twilight tones contrasted by warm golden candlelight.

Entry in the Your Daily / BP Challenge Extras #03 theme on BudgetPixel.

Should have run my challenge entry in landscape as I like this so much better! Whoops! Only did it this morning because I might use it on X. 😂

Looked through a bunch of my recent challenges. In my small sample size, all my portraits have made top 20. Half my landscapes have, but I've entered them twice as often. So do with that what you will 😂

Sealine

It's hard to say really. Maybe I should look back on what does well of mine and what doesn't. My current one was landscape and it tanked.

Sealine

Thank you! Definitely would have entered this one if I'd thought to run it sooner! I'm just so smitten by the moth in the front.

Hmm... I certainly like landscape aspect ratios more, I do almost allm y work in them. But... I'm not sure they get really appreciated on DCs...

CaylaCatz

It is very striking. I think because we are usually served up butterflies with dream worlds so the moth is an unexpected surprise

CaylaCatz

I agree with you. Both are good but I like it better in landscape too. There's more room for all the details.

panos

Indeed it is gard to say... Just an impression of mine, without having really checked...

Unleashed

This really came out great, but I liked it not in landscape too.

Beautiful crea my dear!!!

Sealine

I didn't realize how amazing moths could be until we had a banded sphinx moth land on our screen door. Huge and beautiful!
