Kitchen Sink Prompt : A B C D is for ... and more strange vocabulary practice Today's prompt: Agraph batik cat delft eburnean faille gloze hapax inkwash jorum kagus lotic mewls nidus oriel pavid quipu roric skirl tawny I'd only seen a few of these words before I started working on this tautogram. And yes, none of the words go together to form anything close to a complete sentence or even a half thought. That's what makes it a kitchen sink prompt. It also means. you don't know what you'll get. Some models try to do it all to integrate them into a scene. Some models throw up their hands and just do a few words. All images are using the above kitchen sink prompt, listed by models and credits used April 2026. Grok : 35 cr (see how much it tries to put it together. how many words can you identify?) p-image: 10 cr (it throws up its hands and says, well I like the cat, the blue delft, the ivory eburnean and the tawny tan. let's call it done). Words are so much fun. @paulie does a tautogram prompt challenge so in a past one you have 20 words but each word must start with a different letter and no repeating the same starting letter. I found it easier to just go alphabetically to ensure no repeats. I try to find some unusual words I don't know or combinations to create some new. So I'm dropping some definitions here as for sure I'll never remember them. These definitions primarily come courtesy of google's AI search engine. Minimax : 10 cr (pretty much just did delft and cat I think) One of the things I like to see in my kitchen sink prompts is to see how the AI might try to pull of nonvisual concepts. Or how it deals with a nonlogical string of words. Basically I'm asking the AI to make decisions about the prompt itself. I think priorities get established by what has the most data. Lots of cat pictures so cat has a high priority. Other words have little to no connection to images. The essential question you are always asking the AI doing the art is not "What does this word mean?" but "What does this word look like?" Recraft : 45 cr (it chose to show the words, love all the fonts, only a few spelling errors) A is for agraph . Agraph generally refers to a specialized graph-based language used for data representation, transformation, and exchange. B is for batik . Batik is a traditional wax-resist dyeing technique used to create intricate, colorful patterns on fabric, originating from Java, Indonesia. C is for cat : yeah, I know. I threw that in there because I love cats and th t's going to be my main subject. Z image Turbo : 15 cr ( a ceramic blue tile? that's delft 100% and my cat) D is for delft. Delft is a type of tin-glazed, usually blue-and-white, earthenware originally produced in Delft, Netherlands, since the 17th century. E is for eburnean. Eburnean means ivorylike in color or texture. It can also mean made of ivory. Eburneous is an alternative form of the word. It's a pity we can't just use "eburne" but it is obsolete. Eburne was used in the 16th and 19th century. I wonder why it wasn't used inbetween and why the longer forms won out and continue as vocabulary. I vote we start using "eburne" again for "ivorylike". I like short words. GPT image low : 30 cr (GPT went the word route. Spelled most of the words right. And there's the lotie habitat. I think the manuscript on the ground represents hapax) F is for faille. Faille (pronounced file) is a soft, closely woven fabric—traditionally silk, rayon, or cotton—distinguished by slight, fine, transverse (crosswise) ribs. It has a gentle luster and a durable yet soft structure, often used in structured garments like cocktail dresses, coats, and evening wear, and has a softer texture than grosgrain. Silk faille is a luxury fabric and often runs $45-120 a yard and is mostly used for bridal or evening gowns. Polyester, viscose and rayon-blend faille are much cheaper typically starting at $5 a yard. Lucid Origin Standard (No Style) : 18 cr. (This one is pretty cool, a kind of quirky batik style cat) G is for gloze. Gloze is considered an archaic form of "gloss". Gloze is a verb meaning to minimize, underplay, or mask the true nature of something, often to make it appear right or acceptable. The verb also means to justify, explain away, or use flatter. While the word has a strong vibe of deceit--like not quite lying but covering something up. You know like when a politician gloze over a scandal with a vague statement that says nothing. It also historically means to use flattery or to interpret a text. Synonyms include gloss over, downplay, excuse, whitewash, and polish. Ideogram v3 turbo : 30 cr (the blue from the delft shows up a lot. I think the circle represent the agraph) H is for hapax. A hapax (short for hapax legomenon) is derived from Greek for "something said once." Hapax is used in literary analysis, linguistics, and biblical studies to identify unique or rare vocabulary like a word Shakespeare used only one among all of Shakespeare's plays or a word that only appears once in the Bible. I is for inkwash. Usual form is "ink wash" but you see it often as "inkwash" or even "ink-wash". Ink wash is a monochrome drawing and painting technique that uses black ink diluted with water to create various tonal values, gradients, and atmospheric effects, ranging from deep blacks to light greys. Sumi-e is an inkwash painting style. Imagineart 1.5 : 40 cr (Lovely. The delft pottery. the quipu knotted strings and a bit of inkwash imagery outside the window) J is for jorum. A jorum is a large drinking bowl, vessel, or the generous amount of liquid such as rum punch, tea, or ale that it contains. Originating around the 1730s, jorum refers to a substantial, usually communal, drinking container, likely named after Joram from the Bible who brought silver vessels to King David. K is for kagus. The kagu ( Rhynochetos jubatus ) is a nearly flightless, medium-sized bird native only to the forests of New Caledonia. It has pale grey plumage, red legs/bill, a long crest. It is an endangered species. Hidream i1 fast : 15 cr (what words do you see?) L is for lotic. Lotic is an adjective describing ecosystems, organisms, or habitats associated with actively flowing water, such as rivers, streams, and creeks. Derived from the Latin lotus (washed), it distinguishes fast-moving aquatic environments from standing water (lentic). M is for mewls. The small helpless sound a small baby animal or baby/child makes. Nano Banana : 40 cr (NB worked hard to get everything. There's the pavid (scared) guy all knotted up in the quipu, The lotic habitat is outside. Wrong bird, not quite a kagu, the nest for nidus wrapped in faille, the jorum vessel for community drinking, the oriel bay window. delft, tawny and eburnean for colors. That bird may be making a skirl sound. That white blue style probably repesents the batik. Batik often uses a floral pattern as it's used on fabric. Did I miss anything?) N is for nidus. A nidus (plural: nidi or niduses ) is a Latin-derived term for a nest, specifically used to describe a breeding place, habitat, or focal point for infection/bacteria. It commonly refers to a central location where something, such as pathogens, organisms, or an idea, originates, develops, or matures. O is for oriel. An oriel is a bay window that projects out from the wall of a building, supported by brackets or corbels rather than just the wall. Seedream 4.5 : 45 cr (Seedream is another one that tried to get everything in. What do you see) P is for pavid. Originating from the Latin pavidus (to quake), it is a rare adjective often used to describe trembling with fear, extreme cowardice or fear and/or a person who is fearful or timid. Q is for quipu. A quipu (or khipu, from Quechua for "knot") is an ancient Andean recording and communication system consisting of knotted, colored strings, famously used by the Inca Empire (c. 1400–1532 CE) for numerical and possibly narrative records. These "talking knots" operated as a 3D decimal system to manage resources, census data, and taxes. Wan 2.6 : 30 cr (abit of mishmash but Wan did try to do everything. What do you see?) R is for roric. Roric is an adjective meaning dewy, resembling dew, or pertaining to dew. S is for skirl. A skirl is a high-pitched, shrill sound, most notably produced by the chanter of a Scottish bagpipe. As a verb, it means to play the bagpipes or to make this wailing, screeching noise, and it can also refer to crying or shrieking. T is for tawny. Tawny is an adjective describing a warm, brownish-orange or light brown color, often associated with the hue of tanned leather Flux 2 Pro : 25 cr (Flux has a lot of models so I chose one in the middle) Flux comes out a little flat almost always so I throw it into the Design Workspace in the menu on the left. It's free to change saturation and contrast so that it look like this. Much better, right? If it's too dark, let me know. My screen is a little different than yours and I can adjust it again. And finally the last one, Qwen Image 2.0 : 45 cr (lovely. It's mixing the inkwash technique with watercolors) Words I might actually use in a prompt maybe Art words : Inkwash, batik (batik isn't common so it actually didn't show up much), faille (the fabric) Colors: delft (blue but also often makes pottery), eburnean (ivory), tawny (tan). Maybe "eburne" for ivory if the AI recognizes it Nouns: cat, kagu, lotic, oriel That's all. Just a fun vocabulary exercise for your brain.
